I ask you, CMs, to pass along to the developers this message:
Given the current state of the classes in TBC Alpha, implementing Mass Dispel as it is described currently on the US and EU WoW sites would be the single, largest nerf to our class that has ever been implemented.
The Paladin class has been built and balanced so far around having the ability to use Divine Shield. No one can discount that the ability to move, heal, attack, Cleanse, and buff without fear is a powerful ability. However, we are also the only class in the game which is so vulnerable to Silence and Spell-lock affects, having only one school of magic. And this has been our weakness, we cannot even Divine Shield out of a Spell-lock affect.
Giving another class the ability to remove not only a class defining ability but an ability to which our current skills, talents, and abilities were balanced around having is not something which should be seriously considered or implemented.
I am posting this now as it is still Alpha, and this is the optimal time for feedback. It is not when TBC is in Beta or Live, after we‘ve tried the changes and seen how fit. Therefore, I‘m asking on behalf of all Paladins for you to strongly reconsider this implementation.
Let the QQ more posts ensue. I‘d love to see this thread stay constructive but I‘ve been on the forums too long to realize that it is a dream.
Edit: I‘m more than aware that hybrids (meaning Paladins, Shaman, and Druids only in this case) have the capacity to quickly become overpowered compared to other classes due to their versatility. As fun as that might be at first, it would not make for an enjoyable game experience for anyone.
